Read a Specification Before Comparing Numbers

Find the model and test context behind the figure.

A fictional cream and sage living room with soft daylight and plants.

Understand the distinction

Two numbers in product descriptions may refer to different modes, capacities or tests. A maximum rating is not the same thing as typical consumption. The complete specification helps you find which quantity the manufacturer is actually describing.

Put it in your home notes

Save the model identifier and document revision with your notes. Highlight the unit and the operating condition, then list any missing context. Ask the supplier to clarify unmatched figures before ranking products by a single number copied from a headline.
